Getting a strong and reliable WiFi signal everywhere in your home can be a challenge. The Linksys Velop Mesh Wifi Systems device has been designed to solve this problem.
Using mesh network technology, multiple Velop nodes can be placed throughout your home, completely eliminating Wi-Fi dead spots. This guide will help you learn how to setup Linksys Velop Mesh Wi-Fi systems and how you can create a mesh network in your home that will provide WiFi coverage everywhere you want and needed to be.
Before you start, make sure you have a smartphone or tablet available for setup. Install the Linksys app on your iOS device to complete the Linksys Velop Mesh WiFi Setup. Also, connect the modem to the internet port on the node.
Setting up the Primary Velop Node
Navigate to the Linksys App, and Press Launch setup at the bottom.
Linksys will ask permission and needs location data to function, so select Allow.
Read the Terms and Conditions carefully. When ready to continue & agree, select Agree.
You will be asked what type of router you are setting up. Press Whole Home Mesh WiFi Velop.
Turn on your bluetooth if prompted. Otherwise, select I would rather set up without Bluetooth.
Then choose which type of setup you have from the options.
Now, Plug in your Velop Node & select It’s Plugged In.
Place the node in an open area and select it`s in the open.
Use Ethernet cable to connect your new Velop router to your modem and then select It’s Connected.
Your smartphone will now talk to your new router & start setting up internet connection for you.
The light on your Velop Node will turn to purple. Once it changes, select Next.
Setup will now look for internet connection.
Once the connection is detected, then create linksys cloud acount (email address and password) to manage your Velop network.
Wait for the node to be linked to your Linksys account.
Personalize your WiFi by entering your preferred settings (name and password) and press Next.
You can now connect to your new WiFi using the credentials displayed on the screen. Select Next.
Choose a location for the node then press Next.
Success! Your first node is setup & ready to use and choose Next.
Adding up the Secondary Velop Node
You can add up to two Velop nodes to your home, which will also broadcast WiFi. Now that your Velop network is set up, adding another node is easy and can be done at any time from the Linksys app.
From the Linksys app, select Menu < Set Up a New Product.
Tap on Add Nodes.
Place the node in an open area and then select It’s In the Open.
Your smartphone will start setting up your Internet connection for you.
Once,the light on your Velop Node turns purple. Select Next.
Choose name for this Velop Node, then select Next.
Your node is setup successfully & ready to use! Tap Next.
Now, your Linksys Velop Mesh WiFi System should be ready! Press Go to Dashboard to see the status of your connection & devices.

To Control Your Linksys Velop Mesh WiFi System With Alexa, ensure that the amazon alexa app is installed on your mobile device & working with your Amazon Echo, Amazon Tap or Echo Dot. Also, check if you have Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router or Velop Mesh system with remote access enabled. Also note, if you have more than one Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router or Velop system, Alexa will only control the router or node most recently associated with account.
Launch the Alexa App on your iOS.
Log in to your Amazon account using the credentials.
Press the Homeicon located on the bottom left portion of the screen.
Tap on skills and games.
Search Linksys in the bar.
Tap enable to use.
